Many centuries ago, in the days of the samurais, a text was written in Japan on the spiritual art of wielding the sword: “Impassive comprehension”, also known as “The Treatise of Tahlan”, the name of the author (a fencing master and Zen monk). Below an extract that I have adapted:

Keeping calm

Whoever understands the meaning of life knows that nothing has a beginning and an end, and so he does not become anguished. He fights for what he believes in without trying to prove anything to anyone, keeping the quiet calm of one who has had the courage to choose his destiny.

This holds true for both love and war.

Escaping from threats

We often think that the ideal attitude is to give life for a dream, but there is nothing more mistaken than this. In order to make a dream come true, we need to conserve our life, and so we have to know how to avoid whatever is threatening us. The more we premeditate on our steps, the more we stand to be wrong, because we are not taking others into consideration, or life’s teachings, or passion and calm. The more we feel we are in control, the farther we are from controlling anything at all. A threat gives no warning, and a quick reaction cannot be programmed like a walk on Sunday afternoon.

So if you want to be in harmony with your love or with your fight, learn to react fast. Using polite observation, do not let your supposed experience of life turn you into a machine, but rather use this experience always to listen to “the voice of the heart.” Even if you disagree with what this voice is saying, respect it and follow its advice, for it knows the best moment to act and the right moment to avoid action.

This also holds true for both love and war.

Finding the right master

Our path will always cross that of many others who for love or pride wish to teach us something. How can we tell the friend apart from the manipulator? The answer is simple: the true master is not the one who teaches an ideal path but rather he who shows his pupil the many ways that lead to the road that must be travelled to reach the destination. As of the moment that you find this road, the master can no longer help you, because your challenges are unique.

This holds true neither for love nor war - but if we fail to understand this item, we will never get anywhere.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez | Gabo

El escritor Gabriel Garcia Marquez nació el día que nacieron todas las flores, el 6 de marzo de 1927 [en mi cumple, 59 años antes.. pero ese no es el tema.. jeje], en el municipio de Aracataca (departamento de Magadalena). El es conocido como escritor, periodista, editor y hasta guionista.*

Un pequeño Análisis:
El Amor en los tiempos del cólera

Por lo poco que he leído y por lo mucho que escuchado de Gabriel Garcia Marquez, la vida y el trabajo de este son muy interesantes; Su estilo retorico y su lenguaje lleno de riqueza y versatilidad te envuelven en una narrativa compleja, pero llena de detalles e imaginacion exquisita; Tal es el caso de "El amor en los tiempos del cólera" (1985*). Este libro lo termine de leer hace apenas unos dias, esta novela narra la vida de Florentino Ariza, Fermina Daza y Juvenal Urvino, una historia que relata mas de sesenta años de amores contrariados (como el autor mismo lo describe), y que se desarrolla en Centro América a principios de siglo (tiempo en que el que, según el author, el amor se confundía con los síntomas del cólera). Una de las cosas mas fascinantes de este libro fue como Gabo (como le llaman sus amigos*) hace que la estructura de la historia se forme poco a poco, fluyendo de una forma tan [ blank ] <<no se como describirlo correctamente, zig-zageante, serpenteante>> en el tiempo, la historia va y viene con el tiempo y con los personajes, aveces regalando datos que van mas alla de esta, el autor maneja las pausas y retrocesos maravillosamente, pausando y fluyendo, narrando sesenta años de la vida de los personajes. El autor incursiona (atraves de los personajes) en varias cuestiones de la vida como el amor [como principal], la amistad, el matrimonio, la fidelidad, la sociedad y como estas van naciendo y destruyendo, reconstruyendo y evolucionando atravez del paso de los años de los personajes, esto lo hace con recursos inmensamente descriptivos.

Me encantaría poder escribir un ensayo formal sobre este libro, pero esperare a leerlo nuevamente.

El Laberinto de la Soledad

Su naturaleza -si se puede hablar de naturaleza al referirse al hombre, el ser que, precisamente, se ha inventado a sí mismo al decirle "no" a la naturaleza- consiste en un aspirar a realizarse en otro. Adding Color to Life

This work is a personal project. I liked the concept of the picture, how the artificial contrast with the natural environment but in a way I think they sorts of blend together, the expression on Gissel's face, and the angle of the camera. This colorization took me about four hours, it was easier than I thought.

Este es un retrato vectorizado q' hice mientras practicava tecnicas en Illustrator CS2; Utilize una imagen de referencia, la fotografia d Monserrat, la hija de una amiga, lo hice pensandolo como un regalo para ellas. La verdad me agrado muchio el producto final y decidí que puede estar en my portafolios.

En este momento no me e enfocado en diseño, mi portafolios esta en un 15%, y lo tengo en "hold", espero dedicarle mas tiempo pronto; este blog es el que ultimamente me gusta visitar y creo asi seguire, tamb el layout esta en "hold".. jajaja.. muchias d las cosas q me gustan hacer lo estan, me e estado dedicando a otras cosas que son nuevas para mi y kiero q se me agan costumbres.. jeje.. leer, tomar vino, cocinar, hacer ejercicio [el cual creo q nunca podre.. jajaja] y cuider el rosal del jardin, eso es lo q mas me a mantenido ocupado, pero dentro de poco ia podre administrar mi tiempo i todo sera maravilloso..[espero.. jeje].
